Thank you for your inquiry into the ATA Martial Arts. Changing Lives ATA Martial Arts (CLMA) has a wide variety of martial arts programs serving our local community since 1991. The ATA has over 1,500 schools within the United States. Getting started is a simple process, you can call our martial arts headquarters at 757-471-9002 or email us your contact information and we will call to schedule your first free lesson. This way you can experience our programs before enrolling. Our professional staff is dedicated to the martial arts and the students and instructors.

Evaluation: Consultation and Orientation

Changing Lives Martial Arts offers a free consultation and orientation introductory class for all new members. This way you can visit with us and see how our program fits you and your family’s needs. Please call 757-471-9002 and request an appointment at the nearest ATA Martial Arts school near you in Hampton Roads.

During your first meeting, one of our Program Directors will meet with you and your family to assess your training goals, explain our programs in detail, and answer any questions you may have in regards to you and your families training. CLMA schedules all new inquiries by appointment for a personal one on one consultation. If you would like to view a class without an appointment you are welcome to stop by and visit anyone of our academies.

ATA Martial Arts Trial Programs

After visiting with the Changing Lives Martial Arts Team at the evaluation process, the next step would be to participate in a short-term trial program so you can "sample" our techniques and training methods. One of CLMA’s Martial Arts Program Directors will recommend the type and duration of your Changing Lives Martial Arts Trial Program based on your particular family schedule and needs. Most trial programs are one class to four weeks of classes in length and cost anywhere between $79.95 to $99.95.

Your First Lesson is a Private Lesson

At Changing Lives Martial Arts we want to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition into the group class is managed appropriately, your first lesson will be a private one-on-one lesson with one of our CLMA Certified Chief Instructors. During your first lesson you and your family will be introduced to the etiquette, structure, and basic techniques used in class. Based on one's confidence, self esteem, aptitude and ability, the certified Instructor may recommend further private lessons - at no additional cost.

New Student Enrollment Options

Upon completion of your ATA Martial Arts Trial Program, we will discuss with you the various course profiles and enrollment options that we offer at Changing Lives Martial Arts. Tuition rates may vary depending upon the program(s) selected and the number of family members enrolling at any one of our ATA Martial Arts Academies in Virginia Beach or Chesapeake, Virginia.

Student Evaluation

During your first 4 weeks of training one of our Chief Instructors will schedule an evaluation with you to discuss your training, questions on techniques, and curriculum. During the evaluation, you will receive a copy of the specific goals the instructor has set for you as an individual training in our martial arts program.
