Increased Focus and Concentration
I am very proud to say that as an instructor here at theChanging Lives Martial Arts (CLMA) academy, we offer first class training in martial arts to children, teens and adults of both genders. CLMA addresses the needs of all people interested in enrolling in the martial arts. As an instructor, I teach core values, such as respect, self-esteem, discipline, confidence, and perseverance in an environment that stresses a positive attitude. I actively engage students to work on their strengths and weaknesses in their overall development. As a result, I am pleased to say that I have seen students become more confident, respectful, controlled, and mature, both inside and outside of their martial art classes. Moreover, through this teaching process they learn important social skills as well, which improve their interactions with other students, peers, parents, and teachers. Instructor, Denise Morin
How Changing Lives Martial Arts Positively Impacts Children with ADD/ADHD
As parents of a child diagnosed with AD/HD, we tried to do everything we could to help. When our daughter's teachers, counselor and doctors recommended a course of Ritalin medication, we trusted their advice. If we had known about behavior modification treatments, we might not have had to put her through such an ordeal.
It's true that after starting Ritalin, our daughter did have an easier time settling down and paying attention in class, so we thought it was a success at first. Then she started to experience the drastic side effects that we had been warned would be "mild" at most.
It was almost as if her energy was slowly being drained out. Our child was no longer interested in the things she used to go wild over, and she rarely made efforts to participate in her normal creative activities or try anything new like she used to.
Self-Discipline and Perseverance Testimonial
My mom and I are going to write this letter for Master Thomas and Mrs. Thomas. I was unfocused and confused in my life. My grades were dropping and I was running around the house causing my mother horrible headaches. That was until she brought me to Master Tracy Lee at Changing Lives Martial Arts. In Karate for Kids Life Skills, Master Lee taught me skills that will follow me throughout my life, not just stay in his dojo. This is exactly what I needed, not just martial arts protection skills, but better life skills. After she saw how I changed, my mom even signed herself up for adult programs at Changing Lives.
